On Sunday 13 March 2022, Keighley Town Council hosted the ‘Swing into Spring’ gathering at the Town Hall Square. From food to mini gardening projects and drum workshops, the day was enjoyed by all who attended and took part. Many different individuals, groups and organizations attended to bring the community together, including Within the Wood, James Project, Keighley Works, Worth Valley Ferretry, Bee Together, Jamba Samba, Steve Thorpe, Incommunities, Victoria Alderson Art, Morrisons, Keighley People First and Palomino Pizza Co.
The gathering was an initiative led and funded by Keighley Town Council’s Community Development Committee with the hope of bringing people together post-Covid. Keighley Town Council Mayor, Julie Adams, who also sits as a member on the committee commented saying:
‘It was lovely to see people come out and enjoy themselves again; not only having fun but being made aware of the fantastic service providers we have in our community and being educated in such a fun and exciting way.’
Special thanks goes out to all of the groups who attended and brought the event to life and gave up their time to be involved.
