A Seat With A View

This is a new Project commissioned by Keighley Town Councils’ Community Development Committee.

“A Seat With a View” is a project to encourage local people to get out in the open and enjoy the view.

The Council will be working alongside The Lion’s Den Project to repair and provide a new lease of life for a number of benches that have seen better days.

Councillor Samantha Cooper, chair of the Community Development Committee said “The physical and mental health benefits of spending time with nature are well known and even more important during these challenging times. Also, in support of our climate change agenda we will be looking at innovative ways of creating seating from what’s available in the natural environment. We want to get the community involved in choosing the best places to put a bench or make a seat where people can sit and enjoy some of the many beautiful landscapes and vantage points around the town.”

If you know of a great place to make or install “A Seat With a View” email sarah.barnes@keighley.gov.uk  with your ideas and suggested locations. If possible, attach a couple of photos of the area. Options will be submitted to the Committee for consideration and chosen locations will receive installation in early 2021.
