NOTICE OF VACANCY IN OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR KEIGHLEY TOWN COUNCIL (GUARDHOUSE WARD) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the resignation of Cllr I Dermondy, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Town Council. If by 14 July, 2017 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Town Council Ward, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

If an election is called, it will take place no later than 18 September, 2017.

Keighley Town Council was formed by Order from the Secretary of State on 1st April 2002, with the elections for Town Councillors taking place on 2nd May 2002. The inaugural Meeting of Keighley Town Council took place at 7pm on Thursday 16th May 2002, in the Council Chambers, Keighley Town Hall, Bow Street, Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Thirty Councillors represent fifteen wards. The town area, which is part of the Brontë Country, has a population of over 89,000, making it one of the largest civil parishes in England. Already it is establishing credibility and respect in the town and beyond its boundaries. Keighley Town Council strives to be open and accessible to everyone and this website will form part of that information strategy.
